Class of 2027 four-star guard TJ Jamison has trimmed his list to ten schools, he announced on Tuesday. Jamison’s updated list includes Alabama, LSU, Iowa, Louisville, Oklahoma State, Arkansas, Miami, Baylor, Maryland and SMU.
He is a 6-foot-2 guard from Calvary Baptist Academy (LA) and spent his summer playing for JL3 Elite on the Nike EYBL circuit.
Jamison spoke with ZAGSBLOG in Mesa, Arizona last spring and broke down his relationship with a few of the top schools in his recruit.
LSU: “Definitely a good program. They have been recruiting me hard since like the seventh grade. Mostly like a family down there, and they had a pretty good season. I think that next year they’ll have a good season with a lot of the transfers they’re getting in.”
BAYLOR: “Definitely one of my dream schools growing up. A lot of good guards came through there, and Scott Drew is definitely a good coach. So I’d say that program is very good. They had a great year this year, too, making the tournament.” Assistant coach Tweety Carter has been Jamison’s main contact at Baylor.
Louisville: “They definitely had an unexpected season. I don’t think anybody expected them to have a season like that, but I know when I was down there for a visit, he was kind of telling me about how they were gonna have a big year down there. And they have very good guards. They have Chucky [Hepburn] and they got a good guard, Mikel Brown, coming in. So they’re looking to have a big year next year too.”
Arkansas: “Kind of like one of my dream schools growing up, especially with Coach Cal [John Calipari] being there. And then this year, having an unexpected season in his first year, Arkansas making a Sweet Sixteen in the tournament. Just all the guards he brought up like Boogie Fland, Rob Dillingham, DJ Wagner. So this definitely one of the dream schools that I am looking forward to.”
Jamison took his first official visit on January 2, visiting Maryland at the beginning of the new year. He also recently took an unofficial visit to Alabama, but has yet to announce other future visits.
He is ranked as a four-star recruit and the No. 38 overall prospect in the class of 2027, according to 247Sports.
