Live Thread: Cavs vs Suns

Merry New Year, Cavs fans! This afternoon we say goodbye to the winter of our discontent, the 2025 Cavaliers, and say hello to the tenth anniversary of the greatest championship in North American pro sports history. Hopefully the positive vibes from the anniversary permeate the Cavs locker room and we see more games like the surprising showing against the Spurs, Friday.

Jarrett Allen was a force that game with 27 points and 11 rebounds; De’Andre Hunter has his best minutes in a Cavalier uniform playing the four; and Donovan Mitchell sealed the deal not with his scoring but with his floor game (10/2/7, +15, and three steals). We’ll see if the winning ways continue against the Suns who are without Jalen Green and Grayson Allen. The Cavs will be missing Larry Nance Jr., and Max Strus (who currently has no timetable for return). Don’t know what to make of this Cavs squad, so I’m not making a prediction other than to say Go Cavs!
