Top-30 guard Junior County commits to UConn
By JAMES MADDEN
UConn landed its first commitment in the class of 2026, from Junior County, a 6-foot-4 guard from Wasatch Academy (UT). County chose the Huskies over Indiana, Arizona, Purdue and Maryland.
County visited all five schools and was a highly-touted recruit for head coach Danny Hurley and staff.
“It’s been great to meet and get to know the UConn staff and coach [Dan] Hurley. It was great to be able to have that opportunity and to keep building my relationship with them. It’s really exciting for sure,” County told ZAGSBLOG this summer.
County visited UConn on September 26, just six days before announcing his commitment to the school.
He is UConn’s first recruit in the class of 2026. County is rated as a four-star recruit and ranked as the No. 29 overall prospect in the class of 2026.
