WHITE PLAINS, N.Y.Hassan Koureissi, the Class of 2026 point guard from Archbishop Stepinac and the PSA Cardinals, recently visited a pair of Atlantic 10 schools and broke them down for ZAGSBLOG after an Open Gym on Wednesday.

The 6-foot-4, 180-pound Koureissi visited Fordham this past weekend, and Rams assistant coach Ryan Hyland was at the Open Gym to follow up.

“It shows that they’re very committed, that they actually want me to get there,” he said of Hyland coming. “They’re talking to me a lot during the week, and it shows that they actually want me,”

As for the visit itself, the Harlem, NY native said: “That went great, I got to meet the new coaching staff that’s up there. I got to spend time with the team and I got to play a little bit, go up and down.”

And what is Fordham’s message?

“They were very open and honest with me, telling me that it’s not going to be easy, knowing the type of coach [Mike Magpayo] is. He’s not going to fake it at all, he’s going to tell me the truth at all times. He wants to make sure I play hard.”

He also visited Richmond two weeks ago.

“Yeah, that was great, I saw a new city,” he said. “I spent time with the team.”

Koureissi said Hofstra is also “in the mix” and Dayton “a little bit.”

“I’m trying top decide around when the season starts [in December],” he said.

And what skillset will he bring to college?

“I’m a guy that’s a leader first, that’s gonna get out there every day, play defense, make the right reads, whether it’s my shot or the next teammate’s shot.”
