Another promising KK on the way

Everyone was really impressed with Kon Knueppel as a basketball player at Duke of course, but we also got a sense of his family too. The Knueppels seem to share a dry sense of humor and a certain modesty.

There are five brothers and all of them hoop, so we’ll see Knueppels coming for several years down the road.

Next up is Kager, brother number two. A member of the Class of 2027, Kager hasn’t yet gotten massive interest, but he’s starting to get attention.

According to Zagsblog, his only offer to date is from uncle Tod Kowalczyk, who coaches at Toledo, but he’s hearing from Marquette, Syracuse, Bradley, Western Michigan, New Mexico State, BYU, and Notre Dame. He hasn’t heard from Duke yet, but it’s early.

We mentioned the family traits of humor and modesty and we see that in Kager’s comments in this column, like this:

He also says that his favorite player is Nikola Jokic because Jokic “plays at a slow pace just like me.”

“I rebound well, I’m a shooter and I dunk the ball, and that’s about it.”

His coach is less reserved, complimenting his shooting and his will to win and also his defense.

Duke Nation is invested in the Knueppel family story now so it’ll be fun to see how the brothers develop.
