0 2

St. John’s standout wing RJ Luis Jr and 2025 NBA Draft prospect, has emerged as one of the most intriguing late risers in this year’s class. A former UMass wing who transferred to St. John’s and battled through injuries in 2023-24, Luis exploded in his junior season, earning Big East Player of the Year honors and becoming the program’s first Consensus All-American since Ron Artest.

At 6-foot-7, 215 pounds, Luis blends positional versatility, defensive toughness, and polished scoring instincts. After averaging 18.2 points and 7.2 rebounds over 35 games in 2024-25, he declared for the 2025 NBA Draft and stayed in, choosing to forgo another college season and bet on himself in one of the smallest draft pools in recent memory.

In an interview with HoopsHype, Luis opened up about overcoming adversity, his belief in being a better pro than college player, his admiration for Dwyane Wade and LeBron James, and what he hopes to bring to an NBA team from day one.
