UConn adds veteran guard to backcourt

UConn on Thursday added veteran guard Alec Millender to add depth to its backcourt.
The 6-foot-1 guard began his career at Division II Wayne State before spending last season at IU Indy, where he averaged 8.2 points and 3.7 assists while shooting 46.3 percent overall and 43.5 percent from three. He made 54 3-pointers a year ago.
He led the Horizon League and ranked No. 12 nationally in assist-to-turnover ratio with a 2.95 mark
UConn’s transfer portal class also includes Dayton transfer guard Malachi Smith , Georgia transfer guard Silas Demary and LeMoyne transfer forward Dwayne Koroma.
They are also adding an elite recruiting class featuring shooting guard Braylon Mullins, wing Jacob Furphy and big man Eric Reibe.
