Duke Recruiting: More Knueppels Incoming!
Kon’s brother Kinston is starting to move up the rankings
As you guys know, Kon Knueppel has four younger brothers and being from a basketball family, they’re all hoopsters.
Well, another is on the runway and picking up speed:
Kinston Knueppel, now 16 and in the Class of 2028, is getting attention as On3.com has added him to their “Prospects to Watch” list.
There’s not a whole lot of video about Kinston yet but this one shows a little bit about him and brother Kash.
Just to be clear, it goes Kon, Kager (6-8/2027), Kinston (6-5/2028) , Kash (6-2/2029) and Kidman (5-9/2030).
Obviously the younger two are likely to grow more, particularly Kidman who is, by our reckoning, about 13. The family baseline seems to be about 6-5. Kon Sr. is 6-7 and mom Chari is 6-2.
Of course we have no idea what their future plans are. We don’t know if Duke would offer and we obviously don’t know if any of them would accept. But the Plumlees have the current Duke record for three brothers and if we could break it with five, how cool would that be?
Way ahead of things and all that, but consider this too: to the best of our knowledge, only one set of four brothers has made it to the NBA: the Jones of McGehee, Arkansas, population 4,219. Caldwell Jones was a 76er while brothers Charles, Wil and Major all followed him to Albany State and then the NBA.
It’s fun to imagine the Knueppels blasting that record all to hell.
