Boston Beats Orlando Despite A Great Game From Paolo Banchero And Jayson Tatum Sitting Out
What a night for Banchero.
For the first time in his NBA career, former Blue Devil Jayson Tatum missed an NBA playoff game.
If you missed it, he banged up his wrist in the series opener against Orlando.
Game 2 was Wednesday night and even without Tatum, the Celtics defeated the Magic, 109-100.
Former Duke star Paolo Banchero took advantage of Tatum’s absence to score 32 on 12-25/2-6 from the floor and nearly pulled off a triple double with nine rebounds and seven assists.
Fellow Brotherhood member Wendell Carter added 16 points and eight boards in the loss.
Going down 2-0 in a series is never good but Banchero and Carter have good teammates and they could dig out of this hole. It won’t be easy though.
No word on when Tatum is expected back, but the good news is that there’s no major damage to the wrist.
