Columbia High closes basketball, tennis courts for repairs
EAST GREENBUSH, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- The Columbia High School has closed the outside basketball courts and will be closing the tennis courts on Friday. According to the school, the closures are part of a district wide capital project.
In May 2024, East Greenbush Central School District voters approved a $116 million capital project which included improvements to the athletic fields, playgrounds and infrastructure improvements at the school. Athletic field improvements included new tennis, basketball and pickleball courts at Goff Middle School and new tennis and basketball courts at the Columbia High School.
The district's capital project will be completed in six different phases. The first phase includes the Columbia High School construction projects.
According to the district, the courts will be fenced off and only be accessible for contractors. The courts are expected to be complete by October.
