Cooper Flagg Gets ACC Rookie, Player Of The Year Awards
What an incredible season for that kid.
It’s no surprise to anyone that the ACC announced Cooper Flagg won ACC Rookie of the Year and ACC Player of the Year Monday.
He was also voted second for ACC Defensive Player of the Year (Louisville’s Chucky Hepburn won that).
Duke’s entire starting frontcourt made the All-Rookie team, with Flagg being joined by Kon Knueppel and Khaman Maluach.
Knueppel was also second-team All-ACC while Tyrese Proctor made their team.
Flagg and Sion James were both named to the All-Defensive team.
Isaiah Evans was named to the All-Sniper team as well.
Okay, we made that one up but if there was one, he’d be on it.
It was a brilliant season for Flagg, who played at a level rarely seen in college basketball and, to the best of our memory, no one who was just 18 has played at this level on both ends of the court.
Watching him this season has been an immense privilege as a basketball fan.
