N.C. State fires Kevin Keatts

After its regular-season ended with a loss to the bottom team in the ACC on Saturday, NC State has fired head coach Kevin Keatts.
A statement released by Keatts on Sunday morning confirmed that a change in scenery was coming for the program’s head coach for the past eight seasons just a year after making the final four.
“The last eight years have been a dream come true, and I will always cherish my time being a part of the Releigh community. I want to thank Debbie Yow for giving me this tremendous opportunity to lead the Wolfpack back to the top of the ACC. Her leadership and vision brought so many great coaches to NC State,” Keatts announced.
Keatts’ tenure at NC State included an ACC championship, three NCAA Tournament appearances, and a Final Four appearance. He is departing the program with a 151-113 record.
Keatts announced he’s “entering the portal” as part of his statement.
“I want to thank Coach Keatts for his contributions to NC State and for always representing the university with class,” said NC State AD Boo Corrigan. “He will always have a treasured place in Wolfpack history for the accomplishments of his 2023-24 squad and I appreciate the passion he brought to this role. We wish him and his family the best in the future.”
