Steph Curry is still chasing Klay Thompson’s record for threes made in a single game

Curry admitted this after the Warriors’ win vs the Orlando Magic on Thursday

On Thursday, Steph Curry had an explosive 56-point game versus the Orlando Magic, helping the Warriors come back and win the game 121-115. Curry scored his season-high without a single assist, as well, which is kind of an insane stat.

Also during this game, Curry nearly broke Klay Thompson’s all-time record 14 threes made during a single game. Curry made 12 three pointers out of 19 attempts.

“Still chasing the 14, though,” Curry said postgame. “So [Thompson] still got me on that.”

Interestingly, though he is arguably the greatest shooter of all time, Curry doesn’t hold the NBA record for most consecutive three-pointers made — that’s a tie between Brent Price, Terry Mills, and most recently current Los Angeles Laker Shake Milton, each having 13. Klay’s record 14 three-pointers made on October 29th, 2018 vs the Chicago Bulls were not consecutive, and therefore do not automatically count for that record.

Curry, Thompson, and Shake Milton all have time to keep shooting and break Thompson’s all-time record. Only time will tell.
