Duke Crushes Miami, 90-49
Duke’s forcing turnovers like we’ve never seen
No one’s much talking about this that we’re aware of, but Kara Lawson’s Duke team is becoming truly elite in one category: it’s forcing turnovers like we’ve never seen.
It’s not at all uncommon to see Duke force more than 25 turnovers in a game. Against Clemson, the Devils forced 27. Against Pitt, 29. Against UNC, 26. Against Virginia, 29. Against Cal, 28. And against Miami in a 90-49 rout Sunday, 29.
Honestly, we’ve never seen a team, male or female, force turnovers like this. It’s unbelievably impressive.
Not surprisingly, Duke got 42 points off those turnovers. Miami? Just six.
Just staggering.
Toby Fournier had another solid game with 24 points, four rebounds, three steals and a block.
Ashlon Jackson chipped in 23. Oluchi Okananwa had 16 points and Jadyn Donovan led rebounding with eight.
Duke held Miami to 36.2 percent overall and just 22.2 percent from deep.
Just a tremendous performance by the Blue Devils.
With the win, Duke moves to 19-5 and 10-2 in the ACC.
