The full injury report for Friday’s game between Golden State and Memphis.

After a nice little two-day break between home games, the Golden State Warriors are back at it Friday night, hosting the Memphis Grizzlies at 7:00 p.m. PT on TNT. It’s an old rival and an Emirates Cup game, so it seems safe to assume that the Dubs will be pretty excited and ready to go.

They also get to face a somewhat banged-up opponent, though the Dubs aren’t entirely healthy either. Most teams aren’t!

Here’s the full injury report for Friday’s game.

Warriors

Out — De’Anthony Melton (left ACL sprain)

The off days weren’t entirely kind to the Warriors, as the team revealed that Melton — recently moved into the starting backcourt alongside Steph Curry — had sustained a sprained ACL. Those three letters always strike a lot of fear, but it’s considered a minor injury, and the hope is that Melton will be back quite soon.

Probable — Kyle Anderson (right neck spasm)

Anderson was a very late scratch prior to Tuesday’s win over the Dallas Mavericks. It’s good to see that he’s progressed nicely with a few days off.

Grizzlies

Out — Ja Morant (right hip subluxation and pelvic muscle strains)

Well, that’s certainly a mouthful, isn’t it? The two-time All-Star, who played just nine games last season due to a suspension and an injury, has missed the last three games, and is considered week-to-week. That’s a big break for the Warriors, especially since Melton, who would have drawn the task of defending his former teammate, is out.

Out — GG Jackson II (right fifth metatarsal repair)

Another mouthful of an injury! Jackson, who had a tremendous rookie season last year, in which he averaged 14.6 points per game despite being a second-round pick, is still quite a ways away from returning following an offseason injury.

Out — Cam Spencer (right ankle sprain)

Well at least that’s a more common sounding injury. The late-second round pick has yet to make his NBA debut, and is likely to miss a few more games recovering from his injury.

Questionable — Desmond Bane (right oblique strain)

Bane remains one of the most under-appreciated players in the NBA. He had a spectacular season last year in Morant’s absence, averaging 23.7 points, 4.4 rebounds, 5.5 assists, and 1.0 steals per game. The Warriors will catch a huge break if they face a Memphis squad that is missing its two best players.

Questionable — Brandon Clarke (left toe soreness)

Clarke hasn’t quite lived up to the expectations set when he had a fantastic rookie campaign during the 2019-20 season, in which he finished fourth in Rookie of the Year voting. But he’s still a very solid rotation piece. Unfortunately, after being limited to just six games last season, he’s in danger of missing his second straight contest.

Questionable — Vince Williams Jr. (left tibial stress reaction)

After only playing 105 total minutes as a rookie, Williams broke out with a fantastic sophomore campaign last year. He hasn’t yet had the chance to build on it, as he hasn’t yet made his season debut in his third year in the league.

And that’s today’s injury report. Enjoy the game, Dub Nation!
