One game from ‘23-’24 to help you believe in Kevon Looney

LOOOOOON!

With the Golden State Warriors falling short in the play-in tournament last season and facing the loss of Klay Thompson — one of the team’s most beloved stars — it’s clear the team is moving beyond the familiar days of the Splash Bros era. But while this new chapter is still unfolding, there is every reason to believe that it holds promise and opportunity.

Dub Nation knows this team is capable of greatness, and there is still hope that the Warriors can rise again to compete for championships. This next era may look different, but it doesn’t have to be any less thrilling. And while we can’t rely solely on “Steph Curry putting the league to sleep,” there are plenty of reasons to believe this roster has what it takes.

To keep the faith alive, I’ve gone through the best performances from every non-Curry Warrior last season — proof that this team still has the pieces to create something special. Because “We Believe” isn’t just about the past — it’s a promise to the future.

Kevon Looney ain’t done just yet

Off the top of your head, guess how old Big Loon Dawg is. He’s only 28! This guy hasn’t even touched 30 years old yet! There’s plenty of tread left on those tires, and his performance against the Oklahoma City Thunder last year reminded of that.

Against those young, athletic, tall trees in OKC Looney messed around and got a double-double, tallying 13 points and 11 rebounds.

If Loon can do that against the #1 seeded OKC Thunder, that means that he’s still got plenty in the tank to support a Warriors team that needs his veteran leadership and IQ, as well as his otherworldly ability to snatch tough boards.
