Top-80 prospect Dante Allen down to four schools, sets new visits

Class of 2025 four-star guard Dante Allen is down to four schools — Georgia, Notre Dame, Tennessee and Villanova — he told ZAGSBLOG.

Allen, the 6-foot-3, 210-pound guard out of Montverde Academy (FL) and the Nightrydas Elite AAU program, has also set some new official visits. He will travel to Georgia starting Aug. 30 and then will go to Villanova on Sept. 21.

He’s already official visited Notre Dame in June and is still setting up a date with Tennessee. He also took an unofficial visit to Villanova in early June.

Allen broke down some of these options to ZAGSBLOG:

Georgia: “Georgia when they reached out to me came with a lot of interest because they’re in need for guards in my class. And they match the play style I’ve been used to for a long time.”

Notre Dame: Of course head coach [Micah] Shrewsberry, coach [Kyle] Getter. I’d say what I like about what they’ve been talking to me is they want to do a lot for me. They want to help me really be a key part of their system. What I like about them is they’re not a team that’s built around one guy. They’ll bring in young guys, they’ll bring in other guys and they’ll make sure that everybody can get their stuff to kind of be the best team.”

Tennessee: “I know Tennessee has been good for a while now. They do a really good job in developing all of their players and are always top of their conference. And they’re a great sports school and get tons of fans for all sports.”

Villanova: “What I like about them is they’re a very fundamental team and make sure they get everybody involved. Definitely more of a half court team, which is something I’m trying to get a little more acclimated to.”

On coaches message during visit: “We really want you here. We feel like you’d be a guy that fits, especially as a guard. They have a good mix of guys who they recruit, a good mix of guys who they try and get from the portal that also fit their style. They tell me it’s not come in and sit on the bench and having to watch for the year. It’s coming in and making an impact, putting me in position to be an important part of the team.”

Allen is eyeing a decision sometime in November or December. The guard had an impressive summer with Nightrydas Elite on the EYBL circuit, winning Peach Jam while contributing 15.6 points, 5.1 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game.

Allen is ranked the No. 77 overall prospect in the 2025 class by 247Sports. He is the son of Malik Allen, who played four season’s at Villanova from 1996-2000. Malik earned All-Big East Second-Team honors his senior season after leading Villanova in scoring, and he also played 10 seasons in the NBA.
