The New York Giants are not a tragedy, but a comedy

The New York Giants had the honor of being the first NFL team to have a Hard Knocks based on their entire offseason, and they’ve been so goofy on it that I’m not sure if any other team will do it again.

Despite the Giants being performance art, an intriguing moment came in the final episode of Hard Knocks, where they released the 2024 draft board with tags on how they viewed the players in the episode.

I wonder what the coding means. The blue have to mean guys that they placed priority on, and red has to mean medical or health concerns. However, it’s telling that Michael Penix that didn’t have a red marker on him.

Some social media users have decoded the board, letting people know what the tags mean, and they make a lot of sense.

Again, it should be noted that this board isn’t based on how they rank the players, this is the order in which they went in the draft, and the tags are really the categories that people should be looking for.

If one thing is true based on this offseason, the Giants REALLY wanted QB Drake Maye. Even after GM Joe Schoen put his faith in QB Daniel Jones and wanted this year to be a prove-it year for him, the Giants had Maye with a blue tag on the board. If you add this to the meeting Maye had with the team at the NFL Combine and the fact that the Giants tried to trade up with New England to 3, but got turned away, it shows that they desperately wanted to get Maye as their QB of the future.

Now, they’re stuck with Daniel Jones. Again. Good luck!
