DeMarcus Cousins on his breakout 2015-16 season: Shout out to Rajon Rondo. Honestly like it was Rondo bro, he put that battery in my back, he put things into perspective for me, he helped me understand the game more, he slowed the game down for me. I started paying more attention to details, just everything kind of slowed down and that was just that Rondo effect for me. That’s still my guy to this day, he still coached me and I love that about him.

it will be a surprise if Boogie Ellis will not get a two-way contract. He has all the tools to help his team on both ends. Ellis has NBA material and showed it in Las Vegas. He definitely can play. #NBA2KSummerLeague pic.twitter.com/XMi79Ejnpc10:37 AM

DeMarcus Cousins on Kobe Bryant when he reach out about his injury: It was dope man, it’s Bean at the end of the day bro. So if you’re even on his radar bro you doing something right, like straight up. Even before the injury me and Kobe were in contact at the time where I was supposed to be traded to the Lakers. I think this was, I want to say 2014 or 2015, it might have been ’15 but I was supposed to get traded to the Lakers. The deal ended up not happening and they ended up firing Mitch Kupchak that summer. -via YouTube / July 24, 2024
DeMarcus Cousins on how Reggie Evans humbled him during his rookie season: He manhandled me in my rookie season bro. You know I’mma talk my sh*t, I’m gonna pop my sh*t but he backed it up and he was talking and sh*t. So that’s my OG, he’s from across the street, that’s my dog for sure. I took a lot from his from his game. He was my vet when we were in Sacramento so I took a lot of his tricks when it came to offensive boards and just using your strength and using the opponent’s momentum against them so he actually taught me a lot when it came to the game. -via YouTube / July 24, 2024
KHTK-AM’s owner, Bonneville International, fired Napear with cause. The company felt Napear’s tweet was insensitive and offensive. Napear challenged the firing on several grounds. He stressed that, as a Christian and member of the Unitarian Church, “all lives matter” expresses his faith. Napear also invoked California Labor Code sections 1101 and 1102. This statute prohibits employers from interfering with an employee’s engagement in politics or political activities. It also makes it illegal for an employer to fire an employee based on a political motive. The case has been in litigation since 2021. -via Sportico / June 25, 2024
A Sept. 3 “change of plea hearing” was scheduled which, if finalized as it is proposed, would call for Rondo to plead guilty to the gun charge and have drug paraphernalia and marijuana charges dismissed. All of the charges are misdemeanors. The potential sentence, according to the proposed plea, would be a suspended jail sentence and probation. The proposed agreement is not official until both sides agree to it in court. -via WDRB / July 22, 2024
