Former Syracuse star is now a Blue Devil
The latest episode of the Brotherhood Podcast is out and the guest for episode #30 is Syracuse transfer Maliq Brown.
Brown made a huge impression in Cameron last year when Duke simply couldn’t control him. He shot 11-16 for 26 points and grabbed seven rebounds.
He’s also a terrific defender. He’s not likely to start alongside Cooper Flagg and Khaman Maluach, at least not initially, but it’s going to be hard to keep him off the floor. And Duke isn’t going to take much of a dip when he’s in, either.
It’s going to be interesting to see how Syracuse fans react to his return to the Dome. Duke has been through this in reverse: Michael Gbinije left Duke after his freshman year and went to Syracuse just before the Orange moved to the ACC. Say what you will about Syracuse, but no one can deny that the fans are immensely passionate. That’s going to be an interesting trip.
