More on this storyline

“As I’ve reported on here and on The Athletic, four names that have been consistently linked to the Lakers on the trade market have been Jerami Grant, Kyle Kuzma, Dorian Finney-Smith, and Cam Johnson. And as I recently reported at The Athletic, I’ve heard that the Lakers have held trade talks with Portland, Brooklyn, and Utah among other teams in recent days. So the Portland and Brooklyn talks would align with those players being on the trade market and at this point it’s a matter of haggling over picks and which players are involved.” -via YouTube / July 4, 2024
Their mission to tank has seen veterans like Johnson and Dorian Finney-Smith put on the trading block, and both have already garnered at least some level of interest. The Post had reported on interest in Johnson from the Cavaliers, and Hoopshype has cited at least some levels of interest from the Kings, Raptors, Pacers and Magic as well. -via New York Post / July 3, 2024
The 76ers have exploratory interest in trading for Nets forward Dorian Finney-Smith, league sources told HoopsHype, but nothing is considered imminent there. -via HoopsHype / July 2, 2024
Brooklyn Nets forward Cam Johnson has drawn recent trade interest from several teams, including the Toronto Raptors and Sacramento Kings, league sources told HoopsHype. The Indiana Pacers and Orlando Magic also registered exploratory trade interest in Johnson, league sources told HoopsHype. However, Indiana had other items ahead in its pecking order, including agreeing to a four-year, $60 million deal with restricted free agent Obi Toppin, per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, and Orlando will pursue several free agents with their cap space, such as Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Isaiah Hartenstein first before considering acquiring a player and absorbing him into their cap space. According to a report from Chris Fedor, the Cleveland Cavaliers could also have interest in Johnson. However, nothing has materialized on that front to this point, HoopsHype has learned. -via HoopsHype / June 30, 2024
