Prince Harry and Prince William welcomed another woman in their lives after their parents Prince Charles and Princess Diana, separated. According to reports, they had a hard time accepting Duchess Camilla into their lives. But she plays a major role in their lives.
Prince Harry, Prince William's Go-Between With Prince Charles Is Duchess Camilla
The List unearthed some claims made by royal expert Judy Wade this week, according to Express. The outlet noted that the Duchess of Cornwall served as mediator between her husband, Prince Charles and step-sons Prince William and Prince Harry."It's worth noting Camilla apparently never tried to take Diana's place," The List reported. "Funnily enough, nowadays, she acts as a 'buffer' between the boys and their father."
Wade said in a 2007 documentary that Princess Diana's sons would go to their stepmother, Duchess Camilla, when they wanted something that Prince Charles would not necessarily approve of.
Wade added that Camilla ever interfered with Prince Charles' parenting. She has her own children, too and she trusts the Prince of Wales' judgment when raising the two princes.
Princ Harry And Prince William's Relationship With Duchess Camilla
Princess Diana was a hands-on mom to Prince William and Prince Harry. So, the two were very close to their mother growing up. Thus, it wasn't easy for them to accept Duchess Camilla when their parents separated.
In fact, their relationship with Camilla was turbulent following Princess Diana's death. The Duke of Cambridge also allegedly fought with Camilla's daughter about their broken families.
"In particular, William and his stepsister Laura Parker Bowles reportedly got into fights over who was to blame for their broken homes," the outlet reported. "Likewise, William allegedly blamed Camilla for all the pain his mother went through in the final years of her life."Biographer Penn Junor also shared Prince William and Prince Harry's complicated relationship with Camilla in her book, The Duchess: The Untold Story.
"You want your mum, you don't want her, and she had her own family," Junor wrote.
Relationship expert Neil Wilkie also said Camilla had difficulty building a relationship with Princess Diana's children after she married the Prince of Wales.
"She's not trying to overshadow the memory of their mother and in normal life, it’s a very difficult job being a stepparent," the expert said. "Particularly of a birth parent who died because the birth parent who died is often held out as being the perfect person whose life was cut short, cruelly."
Over the years, Duchess Camilla, Prince William, and Prince Harry tend to enjoy a better relationship. They have been spotted in public events together and they show no sign of any beef. Even Queen Elizabeth II had already accepted and supported Camilla for Prince Charles.
Before Prince Harry dropped his bombshell revelations in the docuseries Harry & Meghan and his memoir Spare, he had reportedly been feuding with his big brother, Prince William. The two's relationship has allegedly deteriorated dramatically in the past few years.
A lot has been said about Prince Harry and Prince William's feud. But for Tina Brown, author of The Palace Papers, the Duke of Sussex's attitude toward his younger brother mirrored their father, King Charles III's jealousy of their mom, Princess Diana.
Prince William Allegedly Jealous of Prince Harry
Brown told Bustle that the Sussexes had jostled the Cornwalls, making the latter "very unsettling to them."She said,
"I don't know if there is room for both of them. If you are the number one, and you're going to be the king, you don't want the more charismatic brother and his more charismatic wife to be out there eclipsing you. In a strange way, what William went through was sort of what his father went through with Diana. He's like, 'I don't want to be upstaged.' I don't think that it's such a surprising thing."
Brown believed it seemed to mirror King Charles' jealousy of Princess Diana while they were on tour of Australia in 1983.

The late People's Princess told Martin Bashir in the infamous 1995 Panorama interview that the people misunderstood the media's pressure on them as a couple, calling it phenomenal.
She continued,
"We'd be going round Australia, for instance, and all you could hear was, 'Oh, she's on the other side. Now, if you're a man like my husband, a proud man, you mind about that if you hear it every day for four weeks. And you feel low about it, instead of feeling happy and sharing it."
Bashir then asked Princess Diana if she was flatted by the media attention, to which she responded, "No, not particularly, because with the media attention came a lot of jealousy—a great deal of complicated situations arose because of that."

Though Prince Harry said the same about his father in his memoir, Brown believed Prince William and Kate were anxious about the Duke of Sussex and Meghan's popularity.

The tensions within the royal family started to be known in public when Prince Harry and Meghan announced their decision to step down from their roles as senior royals and move to the U.S. to have private lives.
Prince Harry revealed in Spare that he had a physical fight with the Prince of Wales before he left the monarchy in 2020.
Alexander Larman, author of The Crown in Crisis: Countdown to the Abdication and The Windsors at War: The King, His Brother and a Family Divided, believed the royal siblings' feud had dated back before Prince Harry left for the U.S.

"Both of them are strong personalities, committed to a variety of causes and initiatives, and inevitably there have been clashes and disagreements along the way," he said, per Time.
Sadly, in his interview with 60 Minutes, Prince Harry said the British press had made it hard for him to hold a private talk and mend his relationship with King Charles and Price William, that was why he made this drama publicDespite being at odds with his brother, Prince William, Prince Harry has always been fond of his nephews and niece, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
When they were born, Prince Harry no longer cared about his place in the order of succession to the British throne.

In his memoir, Spare, the Duke of Sussex wrote that the Waleses' firstborn was "beautiful" when he was born in 2013. He even expressed his excitement about having his first nephew.
"I couldn't wait to teach him about rugby and [The Battle of] Rorke's Drift, flying and corridor cricket—and maybe give him a few pointers about how to survive life in the fishbowl," he continued.

He also gushed about Prince George's birth in an interview with BBC in 2013.

However, Finding Freedom authors Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand claimed Prince Harry spent less time with the Cornwalls' youngest child than Prince George and Princess Charlotte, as the tension between him and Prince William was already growing at the time.
His bond with the three kids eventually "hit a snag" after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle left their senior royal roles and moved to the U.S.
A source even told Us Weekly in May 2022 that the military veteran missed Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis "very much."

In Sally Bedell Smith's 2017 biography about the then-Prince Charles, she claimed the latter and Camilla started their affair in 1986.
Details about their romance started to leak to the British tabloids in 1992 after the intimate transcript o their 1989 phone call was released.
Come 1994, the monarch admitted their affair, and after just a year, Camilla filed for divorce from her then-husband Andrew Parker Bowles, followed by King Charles and Princess Diana in 1996.
