Paul George: 'I'm not necessarily chasing a championship but playing the right style of basketball'

0 5
At this stage in your career, what are you personally hoping to accomplish or looking for in the near future? Paul George: “I mean, for sure contributing to winning basketball. But I mean, at this point, I’m not even necessarily, like, it’s not even about, like, you know, people saying chasing a championship. It’s not that, but it’s playing the right style of basketball is what I’m chasing.”

Why Paul George and the Clippers might be breaking up
by @MirjamSwanson …
“So let’s talk about the Clippers and Paul George – even though, in this case, it’s just a ceremonial starting line: The nine-time All-Star isn’t a free agent until he declines his $48.8 million player – 10:07 PM

So I’ve been thinking about the Clippers. And Paul George. The Clippers and Paul George. And the Clippers and Paul George without each other.
‘Tis the season.

The #Clippers seem to be playing a pretty dangerous game, playing hardball and “calling bluffs” with Paul George. First they didn’t think he was worth as much as Kawhi’s $152m extension. Now this?
Could #sixers or #knicks swoop in?

More on this storyline

Paul George on Bronny James: “What’s most impressive is just his basketball savviness. He can do it all. I feel like he hasn’t shown that he can really be elite at a lot of things, but I think he can be elite at a lot of things. I compare him to the Jrue Holidays, the Derrick Whites—guys that are glue guys that can go do everything on the floor and help you. That’s kind of how I see him.” -via YouTube / June 19, 2024
Harden was, obviously, teammates with George during the season and as George enters free agency, PG-13 said on “Podcast P with Paul George” that players talk. He insinuated that Harden said something to him about Morey (h/t The Philadelphia Inquirer): “Believe it or not, players talk. And then reputations go around, like, ‘Hey man, I don’t know about going to this place, because they … [shoot]. Watch your back, you know what I mean?’ That’s the conversations you have.” -via Sixers Wire / June 19, 2024
Marc Stein: Do you think the Clippers would pivot to DeMar DeRozan if they lost Paul George? Chris Haynes: DeMar DeRozan would be a logical secondary option for sure. So what I’m not saying that I’ve heard that from my own entail, but that was seem like a logical move DeMar DeRozan from LA as well. He actually wanted to go to the Lakers before he went to the Bulls. Talks as far as financially didn’t get to the point to where DeRozan could seriously consider that offer. So he ended up in Chicago but I can see that I can definitely see that. -via Apple Podcasts / June 19, 2024
