Five-star Sadiq White Jr. breaks down top seven schools

INDIANAPOLIS — Sadiq White, a recently named five-star out of Team United AAU, cut his list to seven schools back in March and broke them down to ZAGSBLOG after an impressive Nike EYBL Live Period in Indianapolis.

The 6-foot-8 power forward has a unique game: He has uber length and an extreme vertical that screams high upside off the bat. His athleticism makes him a very versatile defender and a forward who can get down the floor in transition.

He posted a 17 point, 12 rebound game to start off the EYBL session and had 19 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists in the final game of the weekend.

Syracuse had three staff members in attendance during Saturday night’s game, including head coach Adrian Autry.

New USC head coach Eric Musselman was in for White as well. White previously held an offer from Musselman at Arkansas and has since been reoffered with Musselman’s move to USC.

He has no current timetable toward a commitment but will look to take some visits after the EYBL season.

White broke down the Orange, Trojans and the rest of his top seven:

Syracuse: “Those guys have been consistent with me since Day 1 since they started recruiting me. Just the genuine love they show, the relationship that we built has been very, very strong at the moment, and I’m just continuing to build with those guys.”

USC: “Arkansas will be USC now. Coach [Eric] Musselman and those guys, when they were at Arkansas, were very adamant about me, how much they love my game and how much they can see me getting better.”

LSU: “My guy Casey [Long], man, he says his flight got canceled, but he kept in touch with me this weekend. He loves the rebounding aspect of my game, how versatile I can be.”

Georgetown: Ed Cooley, man, our relationship lies off the court. We can relate a lot about life and our backgrounds.”

Tennessee: “My high school point guard Bishop Boswell is going to Tennessee, just the ability to play with my guy a couple more years. [He tells me] go ‘Vols man, everyday I hear it, everday.”

Texas: “All the assistants hit me every week. Everything is bigger in Texas and they thrive on guys like me.”

Alabama: “Coach [Nate] Oats and Coach [Preston] Murphy, they keep in touch. I love their offense, it’s free: Go get a bucket and get back on defense.”
