LeBron James on loss vs. Pacers: 'No excuse for uncharacteristic and unforced turnovers'

0 9
The team turned the ball over 16 times, leading to 16 Indiana points while visibly deflating the fatigued Lakers. “You got to be able to focus and play through it and understand it’s three in four nights, but it’s no excuse,” James said. “No excuse for uncharacteristic and unforced turnovers. Some of them you’re trying to make a play to a teammate or whatever and it gets batted down or it’s an attack turnover, you can be OK with those, but some of the unforced ones, you’re not. You can never be OK with that.”

More on this storyline

The Los Angeles Lakers hope to get Gabe Vincent back from knee surgery during their East Coast road trip. LeBron James, out of fairness, is tempering expectations. “I really don’t even want to get into it too much, don’t want to put too much pressure on him,” LeBron said after the Lakers’ 109-90 loss to the Indiana Pacers on Friday night. “When he’s ready to go, it will be a bonus for our team. But he’s been out for quite a while. So whenever he’s ready, we’ll welcome him with open arms as a brother of ours, teammate of ours.” -via Clutch Points / March 30, 2024
The 90 points were a season low for the Lakers and the first time they were below 100 since Jan. 3. “Offensively we didn’t have it going,” James said. “Obviously we shot horribly from the three. We’ve been shooting the ball exceptionally well from the outside over the last few months. Just tonight, we didn’t have it.” Davis led the Lakers with 24 and 15 rebounds, but the team shot five of 29 from three-point range, with Russell, Reaves and Spencer Dinwiddie combining to make only two of 18 attempts. -via Los Angeles Times / March 30, 2024
