Four-tunate to be a Pacer - the Obi Era in Indiana Begins

0 14
Obi’s 3rd year with the Knicks was in the end, “charming” because as bad as it was at times, in the end, it got him traded to a team that plans to play fast and get out and run in transition. Our guy has a couple skills that fit that style of play. He in fact was #1 last year in the NBA in converting points in transition. And his new team also has the players that were #2 and #3 in that stat. Opponents will not be able to take any okays off. That should be fun to watch.

So in his 4th year, he’s locked down wearing #1 for the Pacers after a couple days flirting with wearing #4.

He will play the 4 spot - a position the Pacers want to find a solid starter. Obi will have competition for that starting spot, but he has a real shot at locking it down.

Over the years I’ve read interviews where Obi has referenced “It’s a blessing…” in his comments. So I went with a synonym and play on word “four-tunate” in the title.

Finally, Obi’s 4th season will be special playing in Indianapolis because there are so many Flyer Faithful that are less than a 4-hour drive away and I expect many will make the trip to see our favorite son doing what he does best in a system that uses his athleticism and unique skills.

We are all blessed and “four-tunate” Obi is now a Pacer.
