[Women's Basketball] Warrior Season Ends in NAIA Second Round

0 17

Park City, Kan.-When looking at postseason runs at any level, one of the common themes is which team is able to stay healthy throughout the season. Two years in a row Sterling ran into injuries late in the season. To finish the 2021-22 season, Sterling lost by a point to the eventual NAIA runner up. Sterling was missing their leading scorer and had the ball with the chance to win, but just missed off of the front rim of the game winning shot. This season, Sterling lost two key players, that at the time of injury, accounted for 30% of their offensive performance. Excuses are not anything that Coach KC Bassett or any of her team will bring up in their next player up mentality. Sterling had a great opportunity once again in the NAIA Second Round to make a postseason push, but fell just short to the 3rd seeded Montana Western Bulldogs, a team that has only lost to one NAIA team this season.
