[Women's Cross Country] Golden Eagles Repeat as Women's Cross Country Champions

TOLEDO, Ohio - (Complete Results) - Cornerstone won the 2022 Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Women's Cross Country Championship hosted by Lourdes at Ottawa Park Golf Course with a score of 30 points for its second consecutive and fourth overall title. The Golden Eagles finished with five runners in the top 10 paced by Anna Martin's winning time of 18:14.02. Malarie Pinwar ran an 18:24.34 for fourth place and was named Newcomer of the Year for her efforts. Nygia Pollard and Annika Shoemaker finished seventh and eight while Haley Niuwkoop finished out the scoring at 10th.

Indiana Tech finished second with 47 points paced by Lisa Voyles' third-place finish. Krista Boese and Kara Kline also finished in the top 10 for the Warriors. Aquinas landed in third place with 58 points behind Hannah Adler's second-place finish and Maggie Whitney's fifth-place finish.  Siena Heights (130) and Lawrence Tech (142) rounded out the top five team scoring.

The top seven finishers earned First-Team All-Conference honors with finishers 8-14 earning Second-Team honors. Cornerstone head coach Josh Neideck was named Coach of the Year and Aquinas' Mike Wojciakowski was voted as the Champions of Character Coach.
