[Women's Soccer] USK Records Impressive Road Draw Against No. 8 Westmont
Saint Katherine went on the road and gained some momentum heading into California Pacific Conference play by playing No. 8 Westmont to a 1-1 draw in Santa Barbara, Calif. The Firebirds fell behind quickly when the Warriors found the back of the net in the 10th minute and kept the pressure on the USK defense with a total of 30 shots, nine goal. But while the Firebirds bent, they did not break, keeping it a one-score deficit with a little over 20 minutes remaining in the match. That was when Ceirra Little gathered the rebound of a shot and punched it in from five yards out to even the score. The Firebird defense turned in a strong performance, allowing just one goal while keeper Victoria Cavazos recorded eight saves.
