Alabama lands Class of 2023 Top-100 prospect Sam Walters

Class of 2023 four-star Sam Walters has committed to Alabama, he announced Friday.

Walters is the first commit in Alabama’s 2023 class.

The 6-foot-8 forward who plays for Villages Charter School (FL.), and the Florida Rebels on the AAU circuit, chose the Tide over Florida, Georgetown, and LSU.

A versatile wing, Walters loathed at the opportunity to play in Alabama’s free-flowing system, “Alabama’s system really fits me,” he told On3 Sports.

“They run a dribble-drive type system, where even the taller guys like me can handle the ball, shoot, pass, and make plays,” Walters continued. “That’s exactly how I want to play. I don’t want to be just a catch-and-shoot guy or a guy that just stands in the corner.”
