[Men's Ice Hockey] Indiana Tech Wins Men's Hockey Tournament
FORT WAYNE, Ind. - (TOURNAMENT PAGE) - Top-seeded Indiana Tech captured the 2022 Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Men's Hockey Tournament with a 6-1 win against second-seeded UM-Dearborn at SportONE/Parkview Icehouse. It's the second consecutive tournament ittle for the Warriors and third overall.
UM-Dearborn struck first as Jared Lee took advantage of a power play at the 4:49 mark in the first period. Malik Ali answered seconds later when he put back a rebound for a 1-1 tie heading into the second period. After that, it was all Indiana Tech and Bobby Frieson and Alex Carrothers both scored in the second for a 3-1 lead. Cam Chabot, Zach Bennett, and Joel Holmberg added goals in the third.
Ty Barnhill made 23 saves for the Warriors while Kayden Pickles led UM-Dearborn with 16. Tech outshot the Wolverines 31-24
