Alabama transfer Aiden Sherrell commits to Indiana

By JAMES MADDEN

Alabama transfer Aiden Sherrell, one of the top big men left on the transfer portal board, is off the market and headed to Indiana, On3 first reported.

A 6-foot-10 forward from Detroit, Sherrell spent two seasons at Alabama and averaged 11.1 points and 6.2 rebounds per game for the Tide this past season. After a limited role in his freshman season, Sherrell became one Alabama’s most important pieces this season during its run to the Sweet Sixteen.

He was also recruited heavily by Michigan State in the transfer portal, but ultimately chose in-conference rival Indiana over the Spartans, among others as well.

Sherrell notably clapped back on social about claims of his NIL asking price last week, but the specific details of his commitment to Indiana are unclear.

He’s Indiana’s fifth pickup in this spring’s transfer portal cycle and it’s eight expected newcomer so far.

The Hoosiers’ list of transfer portal additions includes Duke transfer Darren Harris, Notre Dame transfer Markus Burton, Georgia Tech transfer Jaeden Mustaf and SMU transfer Samet Yigitoglu.
