[Women's Tennis] Women's Tennis Honors

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - (Complete honors) - The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) announced its 2021 Women's Tennis Honors at the championship match of the league tournament.

Indiana Tech senior Vero Jimenez was named Player of the Year after posting an 11-3 record at No. 1 singles. She also posted a 10-3 No. 2 doubles record with Marianna Murcia, who was named Newcomer of the Year. Murcia was 10-1 at the No. 3 singles spot in her freshman season. 

IT head coach Brock Orlowski was awarded Coach of the Year after guiding the Warriors to both the regular-season championship and the tournament title. The coaches voted Lawrence Tech head coach Steve Behmlander as the sport's Champion of Character Coach. 

In addition to First Team All-Conference, the WHAC also announced its All-Academic Team (juniors or above in academic standing with cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 and in attendance at nominating school for one full year) and the Champions of Character Team (best represents the five core character values of integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership).
