With college basketball recruiting Live Periods opening back up in June and July, New Jersey is planning to host several events, sources said.

The Hun School (June 18-20) will host on event on the first weekend for Non-Public schools, while Blair Academy (June 26-27) will host another on the second weekend. The two schools held very well-organized and attended events in 2019 — before the pandemic shut down Live recruiting through all of 2020.

There will be separate Live Period events for 36 public school teams on those same weekends, with locations TBD, sources said. The goal is to have one event at a multi-court facility in North Jersey and another in South Jersey.

D.J. Wagner, the No. 1 player in the Class of 2023, plays for Camden High School, a public school.

The New York CHSAA is also planning a Live event in June, sources said.

The NEPSAC is also looking at holding an event at Avon Old Farms June 25-27.

With multiple states hosting events on the same weekends, college coaches will have to be organized in planning which players to watch and which events to attend. Coaches will be busy those weeks.

As for July, there will be one Live Period July 8-11, but the second window has yet to be announced.

It remains unclear what will happen with July sneaker circuits and Peach Jam. Stay tuned for more developments.
