Not a great year for Duke obviously

With the season over, naturally a lot of attention is turning to the NBA draft. We’re looking at two mock drafts this time - CBSSports and he top names are no surprise: Cade Cunningham, Jalen Suggs and Evan Mobley are the top three in both and likely to be in the top three everywhere. After them come two G-Leaguers, Jalen Green and Jonathan Kuminga.

After that the two scenarios diverge so we’ll focus on picks of interest.

The first ACC player projected to go is Florida State’s Scottie Barnes. NBA Draft has him at #6 while CBS sees him at #9.

CBS sees former Blue Devil Jalen Johnson going to Memphis with the #19 pick while NBADraft sees him going to Denver at #23.

NBADraft.net sees Day’Ron Sharpe going to Chicago with the #42 pick (CBS only projects Round 1).

NBADraft sees Florida State’s MJ Walker being taken by Dallas with the #50 pick.

Not mentioned on either site: Duke’s Matthew Hurt or DJ Steward.

Davion Mitchell gets a wide variance with CBS calling him the #6 pick, which falls to the Washington Wizards, while NBADraft has him going to Boston at #19 which would be a major break for the Celtics.

It’s looking like a very thin draft for both Duke and the ACC but those things are cyclical. It’ll probably be quite different next year.
