The Duke Chronicle continues the annual summer look at incoming freshman and this time it’s Jeremy Roach.

He’s obviously gifted - you can’t play at this level without being talented and even the guys you might think of as having limited talent like Steve Wojciechowski or Jon Scheyer would amaze you in person - but what people rave about his IQ and his ability to control the game from the point.

He’s likely to be a good replacement for the departing Tre Jones (and he inherits the #3 jersey) although he may never be as good a defender.

That’s no surprise though. We might never see a defender that good again.

And as always, we like to remind people that it’s best not to compare players anyway. As great as Jones was for Duke, Roach will have some talents that Jones didn’t. We can’t wait to see what he brings.
