Being the best again was on the agenda for the Cambridge girls' basketball team, yet the Indians did not get the chance to conclude what they started as the New York State Public High School Athletic Association officially ended the 2019-20 winter season Monday.
The Indians were one of 10 Section II basketball champions that were all set to compete in state regional finals — three wins away from claiming a state title. Unlike the other nine sectional titlists, Cambridge was seeking to win a second straight championship. Instead, the Indians are one of countless pro, college and high school teams that have had to deal with postponements and cancellations associated with the coronavirus pandemic.
