Warriors lose, I mean REALLY lose to Rockets

It was ugly, but you knew that before it even happened.

The Houston Rockets mollywhopped the Golden State Warriors on Thursday night, and yes, I pre-wrote that sentence hours before the game actually started.

Do you want to read about a 135-105 loss that you knew was coming a mile away, and then quite possibly watched anyway, the way you watch a toddler falling on its face trying to walk, knowing there’s nothing you can do?

No, probably not.

So let’s talk about the Russell Westbrook Incident™ instead. Yeah, this one:

There are so many good things here:

• The look on Andrew Wiggins’ face
• The look on Klay Thompson’s face
• The look on Alen Smailagic’s face
• Juan Toscano-Anderson being like, “gimme that”
• Kevon Looney ever so subtly stirring the pot
• Steph Curry, completely bored
• Steve Kerr, not here for Westbrook’s shenanigans

What a great, great moment. So great, that I had to make a video breakdown of it.

It was pretty much the only great moment for the Warriors, though it’s worth noting that Wiggins played well (again!), even though the team was entirely overmatched. In his fourth Warriors game, Wiggins managed 22 points on 10-17 shooting, and had 2 more blocks (also a steal). He hasn’t won a game yet, but he’s showing elements of his toolset that should have Warriors fans quite excited.

Other than that? Umm . . . yikes. It was bad. Very bad.

Toscano-Anderson was good, so I guess that’s noteworthy. The Bay Area native, playing in just his fourth NBA game, scored 10 points on 5-8 shooting, with 6 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals, and 1 block.

The Warriors found a lot of rest for Draymond Green, as Steve Kerr identified early that a W wasn’t gonna happen. Dray played only 18 minutes, which was enough for him to dish out 7 assists, but also enough for him to clank a quartet of three-pointers. The good and the bad, both on display.

But Eric Paschall did this to James Harden, so it wasn’t an entirely useless night:
