[Men's Basketball] SSU men to face Indiana Wesleyan as part of First Bank Richmond Classic

The men's basketball program at Shawnee State will close the 2019 portion of its schedule with a massive nonconference bout on Saturday afternoon, as the Bears (11-3) will take on the No. 2-ranked program in NAIA Division II, Indiana Wesleyan (9-2), in the final contest of the First Bank Richmond Classic which will be held at Indiana-University East in Richmond, Ind.

Indiana Wesleyan will be the fifth ranked opponent that Shawnee State has played against so far this season. The Bears are 2-2 against ranked opposition with victories over Life and National Christian Collegiate Athletic Association (NCCAA) No. 1 Great Lakes Christian, while Indiana Wesleyan is 5-1 against teams ranked inside the NAIA Division II Top 25.

In addition to their success to date this season, Indiana Wesleyan is arguably the premier basketball program in NAIA Division II, having won three of the last six NAIA Division II National Championships. The Wildcats have won at least 29 games or more in every season since the 2013-14 campaign.
