Kevon Looney will play tonight

The young center is gutting out another NBA Finals game.

With the Golden State Warriors season hanging in the balance, Kevon Looney has been cleared to play. The young center will be on the court tonight for the Warriors Game 6 matchup against the Toronto Raptors.

Looney was injured in Game 2 of the series, when a hit to the chest caused a non-displacement fracture near his collarbone. He was initially thought to be out for the rest of the series, but amazingly returned in Game 4.

Doctors determined that Looney couldn’t suffer further damage to the injury, and it was simply a matter of pain tolerance and mobility.

The fourth-year big man played more than 20 minutes in the Game 4 loss. He suited up for Game 5, and played more than 17 minutes, but took another shot to the chest, and was in visible discomfort. He didn’t finish the game.

Looney’s availability could be huge for the Warriors, as he’s been their best center during the playoffs.
