The Mamba Mentality

Kobe Bryant I read an excerpt from your upcoming book Mamba Mentality on The Players Tribune.

Mr. Bryant you are one of the best players to ever play game. In all due respect though I believe the whole point of this excerpt on the players tribune was to increase your PR. To open up you did a great job of drawing readers in with a nostalgic piece. " It all came back to that special tap, tap, tap that I first grew infatuated with as a boy."

I do not the inner world of the NBA. There is no doubt however that Bryant was a selfish teammate. In this excerpt Bryant claims that "I liked challenging people and making them uncomfortable. That’s what leads to introspection and that’s what leads to improvement. You could say I dared people to be their best selves."

This is not an article he is just responding to photos. He breaks them down and analyzes the photos. A picture is worth a thousand words. But Kobe gives us about two hundred words for each photo.

This is a big step for basketball players. Ever since Laura Ingraham told Lebron to shut up and dribble basketball players have branched out more than ever. Lebron got a school built, Kobe won a grammy, and basketball players have not stopped talking politics.
