Klay Thompson out vs. Sixers, will have MRI on knee
Thompson will have his knee further examined, though it sounds like he’s just fine.
Klay Thompson will not play tonight when the Golden State Warriors take on the Philadelphia 76ers in a potential NBA Finals preview on ABC. The five-time All-Star will miss the game due to knee soreness as a result of banging his knee during Thursday’s loss to the Orlando Magic.
Kevon Looney will also sit due to pelvic soreness.

While it appears that Thompson is fine, his knee is inflamed enough that the team is planning on getting him an MRI on Sunday.

Steve Kerr said of the inflammation that “it doesn’t make sense to play him.” Hopefully the inflammation goes down, and no further injury is revealed.
Starting in his place will be Alfonzo McKinnie, who also started on Thursday when Kevin Durant rested.
The Warriors are not the only team short a star in the nationally-televised contest. Philadelphia will be without All-Star starter Joel Embiid, who is experiencing troubling knee soreness, and hasn’t played since the All-Star break.
Joel Embiid will not play against Golden State.

Hopefully both Thompson and Embiid are back on the court soon. But even without them, this should be a highly entertaining game.
