[Women's Bowling] CSM bowlers sitting in second place

HASTINGS, Neb. – The College of Saint Mary Bowling Team had a strong day Saturday in the Bronco Baker Bash. The Flames are currently in second place in the two-day Baker event.

CSM bowled 20 Baker games Saturday and knocked down 3,217 total pins.

Hastings College leads the field with a team score of 3,495, while Iowa Western Community College is in third with 2,925, Wayne State sits in fourth with 2,534 and Kansas State is currently in fifth with 1,651.

"I'm pleased with our overall performance today," CSM Coach Tony Manna said. "The lane conditions were very tough and we did a good job with our overall attack plan."

The Flames bowled scores of 162, 188, 170, 135, 144, 162, 160, 160, 179, 147, 189, 134, 172, 153, 144, 156, 176, 165, 130 and 191.

"We had a good day overall with our spare shooting," Manna said. "Tomorrow we will need to maintain our consistency and focus to keep our overall position in the event."

The tournament continues Sunday and all teams will bowl 16 more Baker games.
