[Men's Basketball] Patriots defend home court, hand GC first MSC loss
In the stacked Mid-South Conference men's basketball division, it is important to defend your home court and steal a few on the road. Georgetown College's team looked to do just that Thursday at University of the Cumberlands. However, the Patriots (14-5, 1-3) used a run early in the second half in combination with a dominating performance on the board to hand the No. 6 Tigers only their second loss of the season and first in conference.
Cumberlands pushed ahead by six in the final 20 minutes before eventually winning, 76-62. GC (17-2, 3-1) pulled even with less than 10 minutes left off a Chris Coffey jumper. However, UC responded with a 12-2 run that all but put the game away.
