[Basketball] Murdock, Evans Named to KCAC Preseason Basketball Teams
WICHITA, Kan. – Friends University senior Jordan Murdock has been selected to the KCAC Men's Basketball Preseason Team, while senior guard Lexi Evans has earned a spot on the KCAC Women's Basketball Preseason Team, the league announced today (Oct. 26).
Last season's KCAC Player of the Year, Murdock was the NAIA's leading scorer at 29.8 points per game, while leading the league and ranking sixth in the nation with 10.7 rebounds per game.
Playing with an uncanny consistency, Murdock has scored in double-figures in all but one of his 61 career games at Friends, including every game in the 2017-18 campaign.
Also a first-team NAIA All-America performer, Murdock topped the 40-point mark twice last year, while producing at least 30 points an astounding 16 times.
A native of Wichita, Murdock was a five-time KCAC Player of the Week last season and led the conference in double-doubles with 19, seven more than the next closest player.
In helping the Falcons capture their second consecutive KCAC regular season championship, Evans was an honorable-mention All-KCAC pick last year and an All-Defensive team selection after leading the league and finishing second in the nation with 3.8 steals per game.
Evans, a native of Austin, Texas, also averaged 7.7 points per game in 2017-18 and ranked second on the team in three-pointers (64).
The Men's Basketball Falcons are currently playing Hastings College in their 2018-19 season opener, while the Women's Basketball Falcons will begin their season next Friday (Nov. 2) at Northwestern College (Iowa) in Orange City, Iowa.
