US Open 2018: Bracket, schedule, and scores for men's draw

0 13

The big three have split the three Grand Slams already this season — will one of them grab a second with the US Open? We’ll have updated schedule, results and more throughout the tournament

Rafael Nadal is the top seed and the defending champion going into the 2018 US Open, the final Grand Slam of the season and the 138th edition of the tournament, though in its current form, this year’s iteration represents its 50th anniversary. Nadal is favored by some to win it, though many are picking the 37-year-old and second-seeded Roger Federer.

Also of note for the US Open is that it will be the last Grand Slam to have 32 seeds, with the format reverting to 16 seeds in 2019.

But other than Nadal and Federer in action, there will also be the usual faces, like a Novak Djokovic who desperately wants to end the Grand Slam season with a win or at least a deep run, and Andy Murray, who is unseeded after an extended absence.

In fact, this is the first time in 2018 that all of Nadal, Federer, Djokovic, Murray and Stan Wawrinka are in the same Grand Slam draw.

The first three Grand Slams of the year went to Federer, Nadal and Djokovic, in that order. Federer skipped the clay court season once again this year, opting to keep himself fresh for Wimbledon, but he lost in the quarterfinals to Kevin Anderson, whom Djokovic beat in the final.

Nadal and Djokovic both have singles titles on hard courts as well, at the Rogers Cup in Toronto for Nadal and at the Cincinnati Masters for Djokovic. In the final at Cincinnati, Djokovic beat Federer in straight sets, so he’s riding some momentum.

Below, you can find an updated bracket, schedule, results and viewing information for the men’s bracket of the 2018 US Open. You can find the women’s draw, results and more right here.

Viewing information

As usual, ESPN will carry the US Open in the United States, airing matches on their flagship network, as well as on ESPN2. Unfortunately, the days of getting to see any court provided you had some manner of television service are coming to an end, as many of the outer courts will only be available on ESPN+, a subscription-based streaming service.

Some will be available on ESPN3 via WatchESPN, but the majority of outer courts will be behind the paywall. Play will generally begin around noon ET, with matches ending late in the evening, around 11 p.m.
