Javy Baez thinks stealing home is sexy
Just sliding on in there.
Javier Baez celebrated America’s birthday in the way only he can, sliding into home in a way that seems to taunt magic and the opposing catcher in equal parts. Once again, Baez slid towards home plate looking like there was no chance he would come out of the other side of the play safe and managed to do it.

Every time he does it it’s stunning and incredibly re-watchable, and he just keeps on doing it.
Afterwards, Baez praised manager Cubs Joe Maddon for letting players be whoever they want to be, and he cited being sexy if you feel like it as part of that. Which then led to him confirming that, yes, stealing home plate is indeed sexy.

Which seems like the missing adjective we’ve been looking for for all of his slides, to be honest. Every one a bit sexier and tantalizing than the last.
