Andre Iguodala is nearing a return

0

It looks like the versatile forward will play before the season ends.

When Game 3 of the NBA Finals rolls around on Wednesday, it will have been two and a half weeks since Andre Iguodala suited up for the Golden State Warriors. The former Finals MVP missed the last four games of the Western Conference Finals against the Houston Rockets, and has sat out the first two Finals games against the Cleveland Cavaliers, due to a contusion and bone bruise on his knee.

Iguodala has been frustrated with the lack of improvement, but it looks like he may have made a breakthrough. According to a report by Chris Haynes of ESPN, Iguodala was able to sprint on Saturday, and go through a personal workout; it was the first time he did either activity since suffering the injury.

Better yet, Iguodala did so without pain, and hasn’t felt pain in the knee for a few days, which was the biggest obstacle between him and a return to the court.

That means that the team is likely primarily worried about his conditioning, and seeing how the knee responds after activity. In other words, it’s looking good that he’ll make the court at some point soon.

That is terrific news.
