Warriors’ Andre Iguodala will miss 3rd straight game vs. Rockets

Golden State will be without the fifth member of their Hamptons Five lineup during Game 6.

The Golden State Warriors will be without the fifth member of their death lineup, AKA the Hamptons 5, for Game 6 against the Houston Rockets on Saturday. Andre Iguodala suffered a left lateral leg contusion during Game 3 earlier in this series, and he has missed all three games since the injury.

Golden State is facing elimination, down three games to two, but they aren’t the only team hurt. Houston won’t have Chris Paul, who suffered a hamstring injury late in the Rockets’ Game 5 win. In positive news, Patrick McCaw will be active for the Warriors for the first time in about two months after a scary fall during a regular season game, although Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said “it would be tough” to throw him into a crucial game like this.

For Iguodala, his injury occured when he collided with James Harden’s knee when Harden made a move towards the rim in Game 4.

Iguodala may be the lowest-profile player in a Warriors’ starting lineup that includes two-time MVP Stephen Curry; one-time MVP and four-time scoring champion Kevin Durant; the reigning Defensive Player of the Year Draymond Green; and of the league’s premier two-way wings Klay Thompson. But Iguodala’s versatility is paramount for a Golden State defense that prides itself on the ability to switch everything on screens. He also provides another playmaker on offense.

Golden State has lost both games since Iguodala went down.
