How will teams fill in the rest of their roster after their Round 1 picks?

Now that the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft is behind us, we’ll start to see each team’s overall strategy for building out its roster. Whether they’re simply picking the best player available or filling specific needs, things will only get a lot more interesting through Rounds 2 and 3.

The second round of the draft will get underway on Friday, April 27 at 7 p.m. ET and can be found on the NFL Network, ESPN/ESPN 2, and FOX, with the third round getting started immediately following the first 32 picks of the night. Rounds 2 and 3 can also be streamed at NFL.com/watch (for subscribers) or NFL now live.

Teams only get seven minutes to make their second round pick and five minutes in the third, so things will go a little quicker than they did in Round 1 — although, not by much. The players picked on Friday might not have received an invitation to the festivities, but that doesn’t mean they won’t be impact players soon. The second and third rounds of the draft are typically when some of the top-skill players available will end up getting picked.
